01 Dual-segment Advancement, Deep Focus on Film Equipment Sector

Chen Junhai first introduced the business layout of Jwell FILMTEC. His team, Jwell FILMTEC, covers two major business segments: cast film and blown film. The cast-film line production base is located in Haining, Zhejiang, while the blown-film line base sits in Chuzhou, Anhui.

“Cast film and blown film form our dual-engine layout. Rooted in Jwell Group’s over 40-year manufacturing foundation, these two segments serve as key strategic moves for the group’s high-end transformation in film equipment,” Chen Junhai told reporters.

Founded in 1997, Jwell Machinery is a vice-chairman member of China Plastics Machinery Industry Association. It has developed into a large enterprise group with 11 manufacturing bases located in Chuzhou & Quanjiao (Anhui), Haining (Zhejiang), Taicang (Jiangsu), Liyang (Changzhou), Jiading (Shanghai), Zhoushan (Zhejiang), Foshan (Guangdong), Bangkok (Thailand), Bonn (Germany) and Valencia (Spain). Covering a total area of over 1,000 mu, the group employs more than 3,500 staff.

Jwell’s film-related production lines include cast/calender film lines, blown film lines, coating lines and key core components.

02 Four-Decade Screw Expertise, Forging Core Competitiveness

When asked about the core competitive advantages of Jwell’s cast and blown-film lines, Chen Junhai replied confidently: “Jwell started its business with screws and barrels. For extrusion production lines, screws and barrels — the most critical components — are definitely our strength.”

He further explained that with more than 40 years of experience, Jwell boasts unmatched expertise in screw and barrel design. This profound technical foundation dates back to the company’s origins. In 1978, founder Mr. He Shijun manufactured the first domestic-made screw-barrel set in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, and established the well-known screw brand “Golden Conch”.

Starting from screw-barrel production, Jwell has achieved leap-forward growth from single-component manufacturing to a full-chain solution provider. Its product portfolio now covers compounding & pelletizing, pipe, profile, sheet & plate, cast film, blown film, blow-molding, chemical fiber spinning and other production lines for various polymer materials.

03 Led by Technical Team, Defining True Customization

Chen Junhai has clear ideas for customized R&D. “Over 70-80 percent of our core team members have technical backgrounds, and I myself have 17 years of design experience,” he stated.

Thanks to the team’s solid technical expertise, Jwell FILMTEC can understand customer requirements more professionally during cooperation. It focuses not only on the equipment itself, but also digs deep into customers’ operating habits, raw material properties and practical bottlenecks in real-world production.

“More than half of the equipment we supply to customers is truly customized, not mass-produced,” Chen Junhai emphasized. “I believe market demand for customized equipment will keep rising in the future.”

This view is consistent with Jwell Group’s overall strategy. The group’s transformation from an “equipment supplier” to a “full-industrial-chain solution provider” is an accurate response to the growing personalized and specialized market demands.

04 Focusing on Functional Films, Tackling High-end Challenges

In recent years, Jwell FILMTEC has kept advancing in the functional film segment with remarkable achievements. Chen Junhai listed multiple application areas, including PEEK engineering plastics, PLA biodegradable materials and LCP films. Besides, multi-layer co-extrusion for barrier packaging films is also a key focus.

It is particularly worth mentioning that Jwell FILMTEC launched its brand-new 7-11 layer cast barrier film production line last year. According to Chen Junhai, this line features far higher automation than previous similar products. “It supports fully-automatic roll changing, roll unloading, automatic cutting and automatic shaft pulling. Such functions are rarely seen among domestic counterparts.”

As Jwell engages more with high-end customers in Europe and America, such highly-automated production lines have become a powerful tool for tapping into the global market.

Casting Film Equipment

Jwell FILMTEC also delivers outstanding performance in high-end R&D. Chen Junhai disclosed that the company has supplied customized pilot production lines for many large chemical enterprises at home and abroad. Last year, the team spent five to six months custom-building an optical-grade production line — previously unavailable in China — for a high-end client, and successfully met all customer requirements.

“Under current market conditions in China, the market for R&D-oriented and innovative products will definitely keep expanding,” Chen Junhai expressed full confidence in this prospect.

05 Upholding Persistence While Pursuing Innovation, Breaking Through Amid Fierce Competition

When talking about the current industry landscape, Chen Junhai admitted that challenges are prominent. “Fierce homogeneous competition is quite severe in China, which has impaired the sound and healthy development of the whole industry.” Nevertheless, he also sees opportunities ahead.

“Besides ‘hanging in there’, as renowned Professor Zheng Qiang mentioned in his speech at this conference, we prefer to focus on innovation,” said Chen Junhai.

As an industry veteran with over ten years of technical experience who later moved into management, he has a clear understanding of the gap between China’s plastics machinery sector and overseas counterparts. “We still lag behind Europe and the United States in terms of automation level, as well as the service life and stability of screws. But do we lack the capability to catch up? I don’t think so!”

In Chen Junhai’s view, the root cause of the gap lies in the lack of technical accumulation. “We tend to chase quick profits and pursue aggressive expansion, while forgetting that product-making requires solid down-to-earth efforts.”

He called on peers in the industry to stay committed to the sector, as Professor Zheng Qiang suggested, to dig deeper into technical details, improve material quality, heat-treatment processes and screw structural design. “If we do so, domestic manufacturers will surely reach European and American standards in screw design and many other fields.”

06 Building a Global Ecosystem, Shaping the Industry’s Future Together

Talking about the significance of the summit, Chen Junhai believes such industry conferences bring participants together to share problems encountered in recent years and explore new technical routes and mindsets.

From the very first screw manufactured in 1978 to standing at the center of the global plastics-industry arena in 2026, Jwell has interpreted its corporate spirit — “Dedication, Persistence, Striving and Innovation” — through nearly half-a-century of commitment.

In Chen Junhai’s opinion, the future of China’s plastics-machinery industry lies not in homogenized price wars, but in differentiated technological innovation; not in reckless expansion for scale, but in craftsmanship and in-depth accumulation.
